The nuraghe is on the road that connects Castelsardo with Valledoria, near the Elephant Rock
The Nuragic civilisation indelibly characterised the Sardinian landscape with its particular construction forms. There are many nuraghi in the territory of Castelsardo and in general throughout Anglona. One of the most important is the Paddagiu nuraghe , sometimes also incorrectly called Su Tesoru. Actually, the real Su Tesoru nuraghe is located at the foot of Monte Ossoni.
“Paddagiu” means haystack. It is a complex nuraghe characterised by a central tower and two lateral towers, west and east of the central one. The zone of the nuraghi conserves traces of activity of the Roman period, further attested by the presence of sporadic fragments of pottery in the environs, as can be found in the majority of the nuragic settlements in Sardinia.
